Does anyone know how to get pre-1858 wills from the Perogatory Court of Sudbury? I've found the file number but looking at the PRO site and others it sends you to there is nothing clear on where to find the actual documents and not just another index. I think you must mean the Archdeaconry Court of Sudbury. The records relating to West Suffolk are held at the Records Office in Bury St Edmunds; those for East Suffolk are at the office in Ipswich. The Suffolk Records Office in Lowestoft microfiche copies of the Archdeaconry Court records. Some Suffolk Wills were also proved in the Norwich Consistory Court and these are held in the Norfolk Records Office in Norwich. You may find more information at the Suffolk RO website : http://www.suffolk.gov.uk/LeisureAndCulture/LocalHistoryandHeritage/SuffolkRecordOffice/ John B Leic., Eng
