Hi Norman I suspect you are talking about local registrars offices rather than the GRO where the set charge is 7gbp until it rises to 9.25gbp (if ordering with the GRO ref) Some local offices charge a premium for supplying certificates If you order online without the GRO index reference it is at present 10gbp There are some extra criteria that need to be fulfilled when ordering a more recent certificate such as the date of death Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) I have recently found out that Death Certificates are now £ 10, and you must know the full date of death to obtain one. The folio and page number are not used. I think this applies for deaths in the last 10 years or so. Regards, Norman Custance.
