Thanks Joanne for the information on John Powell Bishop's burial at least that gives me a close approximation of his death date. I wonder if I contacted the Ely Council would they have further information on his burial as the cemetery is still being used. It would be amazing if he had as headstone. Not sure when Eliza Bishop, his wife died, but after 1901. I would expect she would be buried with him. Any clues? In answer to the "U" if the cemetery is setout like some here in Australia it may indeed mean nondenominational.
