Tracing my husband's family from Witcham, and Wood Ditton, I now am stuck with ancestors prior to 1770. This is where the go back to Wood Ditton. I have looked on IGI, and Hugh Wallis and find very little information on them. Advice please on how to go back. Help! If someone has access to March PRs I would appreciate a look-up for the baptism of Alice WILKINSON, born Jun Qtr 1871 (in March according to the 1881 census). Her father was John WILKINSON and I am trying to identify her mother. (There is an older child, Martha, born abt 1869 but not in March - if she turns up the information might be just as useful.) In 1861 John WILKINSON was still single, I cannot find any of the family in the 1871 census, and by 1881 John was a widower in Doddington Workhouse, along with the three children that I have been able to identify. Search of BMD marriages and deaths has not produced any strong clues. Hi Cliff, Well, my CD woks but it doesn't help your cause much. Here are the only two baptisms to a John in the period from 1855 forward to 1872.
