    3. John, I hope I am not giving you incorrect information, but I am sure that the well-known genalogist, Colin Chapman, said at the Launceston gathering in the early 1990's, that it was only legal to be married in the Churh of England until a certain year, which I can't remember. I then thought that this is why only C.of E. parishes were listed in the IGI? Someone with more knowledge will hopefully give more info. 3. Subscribers, It is up to you whether you choose to participate in this survey or not, however I would like you to know that the poster of this message did so without asking for or receiving permission from the administrator of this or any of the dozens of other Rootsweb lists she posted it to. This is not only poor etiquette as regards these mailing lists but the posting is also enormously off-topic. Ms Veale has earned the displeasure of many list administrators through this posting. Before you participate could I direct your attention to this page on her web site to help you in your choice. http://casa.de.veale.com.au/html/body_appreciation.html I have made the choice to unsubscribe this poster from this list and her address has been placed on the rejection list. Taken a genealogy course online? Read some 'how to' articles? Then I would like to hear from you. I am an Australian Ph.D. student who is currently writing a book chapter for an academic Virtual Learning Environment publication - my chapter is about using the Internet for genealogical education. I would therefore love to hear from you, fellow genealogists, about any Internet-based content you've used for genealogy education. This includes online courses (free or fee), how-to's, articles/columns, newsgroups, BBS, chat, mailing lists, forums, or even personal web pages that publish learning material - anything online that helps you in learning the craft of genealogy. Your comments on the following is of utmost interest: What are your favourite learning outlets on the Internet? How often do you use them? Can or did you find what you needed online? What are your learning successes? What could be better? What do you look for in genealogical learning on the Internet? If you would like to participate, your comments are extremely welcome. 3. Sorry I have not answered the queries before but I have been out all day. I have just tried the website that I gave you and it is still working. I didn't need a password but there was a question from someone on the other county's mailing list and he was also getting the password screen. Apparently if you get the password screen you need to adjust your firewall settings in Norton or switch the firewall off while you access the site. 3. Hello John There was a cholera outbreak in 1831 in the UK which started worldwide in 1826. I know it was quite predominant in Norfolk and I have a mother & son who died of it in 1834 in Denver which is very close to the Cambridgeshire border. I have a Word doc of UK illnesses from 1350 to 1950. If you're interested contact me off list.
