I have a mystery re: Joshua WHALEY who lived in West Walton, Norfolk. His children were born there from mid 1820's until 1841. Found most of them in parish registers. Joshua WHALEY, though, does not appear in 1841 census according to a previous lookup request. However, in April 1842, Joshua WHALEY was tried in Crown Court, Norwich, Norfolk circuit. It states he was of West Walton. Since I cannot locate him in 1841 census, I wonder if anyone has access to this census and can find his neighbors who testified against him in court. They are Anne WRIGHT, Mr. PORTER, Mrs, SHANE. I am hoping perhaps that Joshua WHALEY's wife & children are next to these people in the census but with incorrect surname? His wife was Mary or Sarah, children: Sarah, Mary Ann, Joshua, Elizabeth, Joseph. If none of these people can be found, then I will figure they were all enumerated under a different parish? Any help greatly appreciated Sue, USA P.S. Am trying this list first as I been subscribed here a long time, most of my WHALEY's are in Cambs, and the fact that West Walton was part of Wisbech district. THANKS!
IS there some very kind person with acess to the 1871 Census for this area of Cambridgeshire who could do a lookup to see if a WILLIAM THOMAS PLUMB born c 1864 is living with his parents possibly Fleam dyke, Balsham.,West Wratting area. Looking for name of parents and or siblings. Honor

I have the early Oakington, Longstanton, and Cottenham indexes, I also have Coton, Histon and Girton if you would like a look-up. Let me know.. There's a John Fuller aged 3, parents Henry and Elizabeth, on the 1851 census, in Cambridge All Saints parish. You can find the children's christenings on FamilySearch, including the usefully distinctive Edward Warwick Fuller born in 1851. This might be your family, anyway. John and Florence's marriage certificate will have his father's name. Hi Janet, Do you have any Modens from Coveney, Cambridge? Cheers, Catherine
Having put out a plea for the name of this survey as soon as I had sent it I found my source of info! I had been valiantly thinking of "Asquith's Survey" etc etc. Just to confirm that the Cambridge Record Office hold Valuation Books, Form 37-Land and Work Maps plus some misc. docs. Hunts Record Office has similar holdings for their old county. regards Pam
Can anyone remind me of the name of the land survey which is named after the man who organised it (was it a Min of Ag survey) I am not thinking of the Farm Survey of 1941. I remember looking at coloured maps in the PRO some years ago but can't for the life of me remember the name of the survey. Thanks Pam

Hi list, Does anyone has access to the 1861 Parson Drove, Cambridgeshire census? I am looking for the family of Robert WHALEY. He was born in Wimblington, Cambs c 1820. I could not find him in Cambridgeshire in 1851 census, but in 1871 is living in Parson Drove with some of his children and listed as widowed. I have not been able to find his wife's name. There should be several children listed that were born in the 1850's in Parson Drove according to later censuses. Any help gratefully received. Sue, USA
