    1. Wild guess on Kitty Hagger
    2. Estelle Wolfers
    3. Dear Diane, I can't find either Kitty or Biddy on the 1851 census (but I'm no expert) - however, Kitty is usually short for Catherine, and you might get something from a Catherine CHAPMAN of the correct age, born in Croydon, who appears on the 1881 and 1891 censuses as born in Croydon, Cambs. Her husband is William, ag. lab., also born in Croydon, but unfortunately I can't find their marriage, so I can't confirm what is only a wild guess. They have several children's christenings on the IGI. Estelle >I am hoping that someone may be able to help me. I have been relatively >successful in unearthing information about my great great great grandfather, >John Nelson who was born about 1828 in Croydon cum Clopton. >However, since the 1841 census in which his sister is listed as Kitty Hagger >(on account of his mothers marriage to James Hagger) I have been unable to >trace Kitty Nelson or his mother Biddy (Bridget). Kitty was born about 1832.

    1. Payne Family
    2. Kate Large
    3. Hello Listers I am trying to trace Sarah PAYNE who was possibly born in 1860 (sadly no name on birth cert!) She was apparently born in Kneesworth (district of Melbourne) and her father was William from Steeple or Guilden Morden (possibly in Cambs though not sure). Could SKS with an 1861 Census possibly try to locate Sarah and her father William - I need to see if there is a name for her mother. Many thanks Kate Large Interests in Cambs ROSSENDALE/ROSINDALE & PAYNE

    3. I am hoping that someone may be able to help me. I have been relatively successful in unearthing information about my great great great grandfather, John Nelson who was born about 1828 in Croydon cum Clopton. However, since the 1841 census in which his sister is listed as Kitty Hagger (on account of his mothers marriage to James Hagger) I have been unable to trace Kitty Nelson or his mother Biddy (Bridget). Kitty was born about 1832. I am hoping that if someone has access to the 1851 Cambridge census records they can check on these two people for me. Thanks

    3. Thanks Judy for your input and will keep in mind about checking St. Peter & Paul's Church in Wisbech. The Joshua Whaley family you mention in 1841 Elm, Cambs, census is not the family I am looking for---although they are distantly related. Thanks, Sue
