    3. Hi I notice that you are researching MUNNS. I have just had some info that is a possible connection to my family tree & the surname is NUNN. Now if this is a connection or even if it not the Nunn is around the Suffolk side but knowing how people can move plus the spelling changes thought this may be of interest & for you to possible be aware that the M could change to a N Regards Janice ----- Original Message ----- From: "Colin Baldwin" <cbaldwin@globalnet.co.uk> To: <ENG-CAMBRIDGESHIRE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 9:18 PM Subject: [ENG-CAMB] MUNNS Ancestors in Hunts/Cambs. > This is my first posting to the list about my MUNNS family interests > in Huntingdonshire, and possibly Cambridgeshire. > > My gt.grandfather was Albins MUNNS, born in 1854 in Bluntisham, > Hunts.. Bev ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Phillips" To: Sent: Tuesday, June 29, 2004 9:12 AM Subject: [ENG-CAMB] WOODHAM, BENNING, ARNOLD, PERKINS, BROOK, etc Dear all, I am researching the following families who moved from county to county over a long period of time. Someone may be related to them somewhere, hence spreading them over 3 lists. WOODHAM North Bedfordshire from c1600, then Cambridgeshire (Arrington/Croydon, then Gamlingay) late 1600s - early 1700s, and London by late 1700s, - married Arnold 1769. One branch went to Ely mid-late 1600s from Pertenhall/Riseley. Other places associated with them, Bushmead, Bletsoe, Knotting, Keysoe. Families associated with WOODHAM at Gamlingay: MEAD, CARELESS, NODES (Southill, Beds) EVERSDEN (from Toft/Little Eversden), These families were members of the CONGREGATIONAL CHAPEL AT BARRINGTON, Cambs, late 1600s to mid 1700s. Families associate with WOODHAM in N Beds and Hunts: Stoakes, Fryer, Cottington, Baskerfield, Brownell/Browning, Webb, Blowfield, Seward, Simes/Simms etc. BENNYNG, BENNING, BENING Tottenham (Mdx) from late 1500s, Cambridgeshire by 1650, bought estate in Thriplow 1681, married WOODHAM 1742 at Caxton, Cambs. PERKINS were heirs to the BENING family at Thriplow into the 19th century. One of their descendants may have family papers which could throw light on earlier generations. BROOK - Separate problem. N E Cambs around 1750-1850, based on West Row, Mildenhall (Suffolk) and possibly Isleham or Fordham, Cambs. Baptists! Moved to London circa 1825/30. If anyone is descended from any of this mob and would like to compare/exchange information I would be delighted to hear from them. Yours more in hope than expectation! The only Stott of a shopkeeping nature I could find in Cambridgeshire was STOTT, D. & J., Market Square, St. Neots, Cambridgeshire, booksellers and stationers, in 1838! There was also an Edwin STOTT of Newmarket who was an ironmonger and insurance agent in the High Street, Newmarket, 1883 St. Noets is within Cambridgeshire (just), about 18 miles due east of Cambridge itself. I had a quick look and there were no Waceys at all appearing in Cambridgeshire but plenty in Norfolk, in the University of Leicester's archive of Commercial Directories from 1750 to 1920, which, if they were shopkeepers, they ought to be in. Similarly, there are no Waceys listed in Cambridgeshire on the 1901 Census - but lots in Norfolk and some in Lincolnshire for instance.
