    3. Hello everyone, Does anybody have access to the Peterborough census of 1861 or 1871? I am seeking the whereabouts of my 3x gr-grandfather, James Hawkins born Dec 1844 in Thorney. He is on the 1851 census for March and would have been working probably in the Railways by then and may have been a platelayer. Any help very much appreciated. Best wishes, Mary, Lower Hutt, New Zealand Researching Hawkins, Foden, Woollaston

    3. Hi to all on the list Can anyone on the list help with the following street locations in Cambs. According to the 1913 Street and General Directory of Cambridgeshire one of my DIX family was residing at No: 6 Gresham Terrace, Cherryhinton Road. The directory does not specify in which part of Cambs this road is. It would be appreciated if some kind lister could assist, possibly a local. If there is a local on the list that could help with a digital image of the property (if it still exists) it would be a bonus. The gentleman concerned is a Benjamin Alexander DIX born 22 April 1872 in Saffron Walden, Essex. Benjamin later moved on to Cambridgeshire ca 1901 and married in the September Quarter of 1909, the marriage was registered in Chesterton. He married Edith M ? Davison and later moved to Littleport where he lived at No: 29 The Crescent before moving on to Cambridge where he died in 1949. He had one son Sidney Alan DIX who also lived in Cambs and married a Marjorie COBB in ca 1940. Sidney and Marjorie had 3 children Rosemary born ca 1943 married Ian THOMPSON in 1962. Michael born ca 1946 married Jenifer TEVERSHAM in 1966 Barbara born ca 1951 married Steven BROWN in 1972 Any help / additional information or photos of these locations or families would be greatly appreciated. 1. Richard Chapman and family of Sawston
    2. paul.carver
    3. Hi I'm currently stuck trying to find the marriage of a Richard Chapman (b.c1845 Sawston, Cambs, England) to a Sarah Ann ? (b.c1850 Sawston, Cambs, England) - per 1881 census. Can anyone help either directly, or merely give me some pointer as to where I go next. 1881 census places them in Bulwell, Nottingham, 1861 census (Richard) in Sawston, Cambs. They were not married in the Parish church in Sawston, nor in the Parish church in Bulwell. Richard was a Plate Layer on the railway, so may have moved around before settling down. Sarah's maiden name may be Barker (ie the only Sarah Ann of the right age in the 1861 census). 3. Dear Marianne - there is no such place as 'Hunsford' in Hereford or Hertford, but it might be a spelling mistake for HUNSDON which is in Hertfrodshire, a county which borders on to Cambridgeshire. The Family Search at LDS website has a couple of Sarah Bushs christened at Hunsdon. Hope this helps, Liz

    3. Thanks for this info Gabby. I don't have a link at the moment but it is possible as the villages are close and it is an unusual name. I haven't had a reply to my note re the Trumpington PRs yet (Help!) As far as I can ascertain they are not yet available on microfilm but are in the process of being transcribed. I wonder if one of the transcribers could help if they see this message.
