    2. Dear Listers, The annual Harvest Service at the Swaffham Fen Wesleyan Methodist Chapel (now usually called 'The Little Chapel in the Fen') is on Sunday October 3rd at 3 p.m. and I invite anyone who has memories of or family connections with this little Victorian gem to come along. There is some information on the Chapel at: Fen Chapel Roll of Honour And the Chapel itself (ringed in a red circle) can be located at: Little Chapel in the Fen In order that this posting shall not be regarded as too 'off-topic', I mention below the names of the Chapel's trustees as listed in 1884. We are always interested in 'hearing' from anyone connected with these fine and honourable folk: William STEVENS William HOUSDEN Charles PRATT Thomas IVATT Josiah Chapman MUNSEY William MUNSEY Robert NORMAN Thomas MILLER James NEAL Frederick MUNNS John SHRIVE Yours, etc. Geoffrey Woollard (one of the Chapel's living trustees!).

I was wondering if SKS could look up Susan Plumb she would have been 21 in 1871 and born in Balsham, and Rhoda Plumb 5 in 1871 born in west wratting many thanks in advance Debbie Hertfordshire (uk)

    1. First posting interest in CHAMBERS
    2. Hi, this is my first posting to this list, My interest is in the CHAMBERS family. I have Arthur CHAMBERS b 1864 Balsham, Cambridgeshire who married Rhoda PLUMB b 1866 in West Wratting, they moved to Edmonton in Middlesex. I think i may have found Arthur CHAMBERS on the 1881 census at Fox End, Balsham, but still have to get some evidence that i'm following the right line. On the 1881 census his father was Henry CHAMBERS born in Wood Ditton, looking through the archives i noticed there has been some interest in Henry CHAMBERS in Wood Ditton so would be interested if there is any connection. 3. While probably not as popular as Elizabeth or Mary, Kezia[h] isn't that unusual. I have quite a number of them in my database. It is Hebrew in origin and means cassia or cinnamon. Keziah was the daughter of Job so you would probably find that families who like to use Biblical names would choose this one for one of their daughters. Some variant of the name are Keesha, Keziah, Ketzia, Kezzy, Keisha, Keishia, Keshia, Lakeisha Cheers -- Robyn Smith -- Sydney, Australia Listowner ENG-CAMBRIDGESHIRE, ENGLISH-FENS at www.Rootsweb.com List admin ENG-CAMBRIDGESHIRE, GEN-WebDesign, OPC-CAM-Little-Shelford, OPC-CAM-Brinkley, OPC-DEV-Bickington at www.British-Genealogy.com Family History Web Site http://www.robalsmith.id.au Little Shelford Web Site http://shelford.robalsmith.id.au/ -----Original Message----- From: john riley [mailto:rileyjl@attglobal.net] Sent: Saturday, September 18, 2004 3:37 AM To: ENG-CAMBRIDGESHIRE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ENG-CAMB] King family 1800s Hi, Been watching this. 3. Dear Keziah descendants, according to Charlotte Yonge's marvellous 'History of Christian Names', Kezia (no 'h') was a popular name in England when the book was written (1884), especially with Evangelists (Wesley had a sister Kezia). 'The Oxford Dictionary of English Christian Names' (1977) puts the h at the end. Kezia was one of Job's three daughters, along with Jemima and Kerenhappuch, and her name meant 'cassia' (the cinnamon substitute).
