    3. Hi Syd Don't know about 1852, but it was there in 1896 according to the Kelly's Directory, page 263. Stearn T & Sons, 72 Bridge Street, Cambridge I've had a look at the Slater's Directory for 1850 and there are no photographers listed at all. Seems a bit strange, but the businesses go from Perfumers and Hair Dressers straight to Physicians. There is a Joseph Stearn, 21 King St listed under "Shopkeepers and Dealers in Groceries & Sundries" . Also, 3 Stearn's listed under Tailors (also ropemakers) but no Photographers. Thomas Stearn was still at 72 Bridge Street in 1904, as per the Cambridge Explorer CD. It's listed as Stearn & Sons, photographers. Thomas Stearn Any help ? But the puzzling thing is they are nowhere to be found in 1901 apart from my grandmother Gertrude Emma Blackwell who was 16 in 1901 and living with her grandmother still in Cambridge.
