Hi Syd Don't know about 1852, but it was there in 1896 according to the Kelly's Directory, page 263. Stearn T & Sons, 72 Bridge Street, Cambridge I've had a look at the Slater's Directory for 1850 and there are no photographers listed at all. Seems a bit strange, but the businesses go from Perfumers and Hair Dressers straight to Physicians. There is a Joseph Stearn, 21 King St listed under "Shopkeepers and Dealers in Groceries & Sundries" . Also, 3 Stearn's listed under Tailors (also ropemakers) but no Photographers.
