    3. I sent an email the other day in respect of - coul danyone help me with a request for a Hannah and William Goude/Goode married in Whittlesea I think in Cambs. hey had a son William born in 1743 and another son born in Whittlesea. There may be another marriage before this one of William marrying before but not sure. Could they have married in another place as it is usual for the marriage to take place in the town where the girl is living. Also a Robert Goude b 1710 could this be William's brother. I have not had a copy that I sent before of this email as to what usually happens, which is strange as usually one goes to all on the subscribe list. Hope that someone may be able to help Rgeards Eunice Goude

    1. AMY NEWMAN
    2. juliet
    3. Can I pick your brains? (When the server is mended!) I only have a printed copy of the Little Shelford PRs but I need to know if the marriages in 1675 were particularly difficult to read. I have a Johannes HOWARD marrying an AMY NEWMAN in Cambridge on 6.9.1675 (ref IGI - do not know the Cambridge parish!!). This marriage date perfectly fits my Johannes Howard who had his children in Little Shelford beginning with John in May 1676. Trouble is all the children are stated as being of John and Ann - not Amy. Amy appears to be interchangeble with Emma but not Ann. If the registers are hard to read then this could explain things. The other piece of evidence is that John and "Ann" had a son called "Newman" in 1682 and this family are notorious for using the maiden names in all their children for generations. There is no other marriage for a John Howard at the right time to an Ann. If anyone is researching the name NEWMAN and has any clues, I would be most grateful. regards Juliet

However, I also have Australian connections from both sides of my family tree re WOODS and ZELLEY. My Cambridgeshire connection is through the Agnes KYNE - Henry DUJARDIN branch. Also, some of my ZELLEY scattered leaves have found their way in the Ely area. Brian Zelley, Canada

    3. Dear Gill, I do see the problem! I can't find Emma/Emily Uffindell on the birth certificates index from April 1853 to December 1854, by any obvious spelling. There is an Emily born in 1851, but her father was Edward, from Cambridge, and like you, I can't find an Isaiah anywhere. I have a few ancestors who arrived by spaceship just before their marriages - I suspect your Emily is another. Estelle
