I haven't ordered any certificates in quite some time, but I used to go through Antony Lambert -- he was always very helpful & quick getting them to me here in New York. http://www.certificates.fsnet.co.uk/certificates.htm Good luck! Thanks for the suggestion ------------------------------- If you give us the details we may be able to help by looking at other sources.... Paula Elizabeth Sarah Charles as per my grandfather married John B. Edwards in Cambridge > 23 Nov 1863 OK i have found them in census 1871, 1881, and 1891 in St. Andrew Less, Cambridge, Cambrideshire for the 30 years I found the birth index of their first child, James Charles Edwards,in the Birth index 1864 Q2-Apr-May-Jun E, the date my Grandfather gave me for his fathers birth was 7 Jun 1864 which means oh well you can tell what it means. OK here is my dilemma i found Elizabeth Sarah Charles in the index in Book 3b volume 1142 in Cambridge and the only John Edwards in that quarter was in Royston is in book 3a vol 233 On Ancestry i put in the book number and page number on the search of Elizabeth and the search brought up no Edwards man and when doing the same with the John of Royston i found no Charles woman. and i only have Ancestry for the US i couldn't afford the double international fee. i am lost at to what to do now, Gayla ------------------------------ Gayla, if you found the two people in different volumes then that is not a match. If they were definitely married in Cambridgeshire you can try the CAMDEX site and see if the marriage is there and you can order the certificate straight from the Cambridge Register Office through that site. Hi I am still searching for my elusive Nelson ancestors and I found my great x 3 grandmother, Biddy Hagger (formerly Nelson, nee Brown) in Croydon cum Clopton. In the 1841 census it says she was born in Ireland as does the Speculum Gregis. In the same census she has with her a Margret Easy age 25, Eliza Easy age 4, and Alfred Easy age 2. Margret and Eliza according to that source were both born in Ireland, Alfred in Croydon. On the IGI there are births for both Alfred and Eliza but no place given (private submissions)- the father is listed as John Easy and the mother as Margaret Dinah Nelson. So, to make a long winded story a bit shorter, I think that Margaret may hold some family clues (she may have been Biddy's daughter or a sister in law) - but I have been unable to find her or her children in any subsequent census records. She may have remarried or returned to Ireland but I thought I would start with the very kind people on this board and see if they have come across that family. Thanks in advance for any help. Hello List! Has anyone any information on descendents of Robert LAVENDER and Louisa COOPER who married in 1860 in Edmonton district? I have the couple in Hornsey in 1861, and in Ealing in 1891, but have had no success in finding them in 1871 or 1881! He was from Chatteris born c 1830 and she was from Wootton, Hampshire born c 1831. Have what I think is his death on the Isle of Wight in 1900, in 1901 she is the widowed sister of Henry G Cooper in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. My interest is only in the descendents, not ancestors, of Robert Lavender. Thanks! Bev

Hello all, Just wondering if someone might be able to help me out with a Marriage lookup in the Ashley Parish for WILCOCKSON Joseph & HANTON Charlotte on 5 Oct 1826. Hi Marion, On the transcripts which I have, it simply gives the date and the names. The only additional information is that Joseph was from Lidgate; they were married by licence and the witnesses were Ann RANSOM and Thomas BUNTING. I think you'll need somebody to go to the record office for you. I've just checked and the transcripts have not been updated yet. Of course, that may be the only information given in the register. Which side is your brick wall? Kind regards, Heatha
Hello All: Does anyone have access to: The Ely Methodists 1774-1932 : the story of the Wesleyan and the Primitive Methodists of Ely, Cambridgeshire Authors Jakes, Eileen (Main Author) Publication [England : s.n.], c1988 ISBN/ISSN 0951345702 I'm looking for a William MARKILLIE / MARKELEY / MARKILIE / MARKLEY son of Jacob MARKELEY / MARKILLIE and Lydia WESTWOOD of Littleport, Cambridgeshire who was baptized at one month old in the Ely Westlyan Methodist Church 4 April 1810 although he seems to have been also baptized at Littleport St. George's on 10 April 1810. His parents and brother John died of cholera in 1811 in Downham, Cambridge, England. If anyone has the above mentioned book and if it has baptisms 1810, would you please check for me the baptism of this William? Many thanks - Carol
Hello Jane and thank you for your reply. Unfortunately those e-addresses appear to be out of date and I could not make contact. On the contact site you gave me there is no information posted after mid-2006 Perhaps your friend has some more up-to-date information? If not, could I contact him myself (with his permission of course). Hello Listers I am wanting to find out where I could locate anything about the above Rugby Club. My husband, Cyril Michael RAWLINGS was a member of the club when I met him in 1952. He had been a pupil at the County High School from approx. 1936 and had played Rugby and cricket whilst at school and went on to join the Old Cantabrigians probably after he was demobbed from the RAF in 1947. I live in Perth, Western Australia, and my son has just visited me today prior to moving to Carnarvon in W.A. next week, Whilst house-hunting he met someone there who also used to play for the Club and would very much like to know about members too. I am afraid I don't have a timeframe for his request. Are there any records, photographs etc available? Two players that I remember are Sidney Gordon Revill (our best man) and Frank Hubbard whom I knew at the Cambridge Technical College 1943-1947. My maiden name was Sylvia HODGES and if there is anyone on the list who remembers me (good or bad!!) I would love to hear from you as my days of coming to the UK to do my genealogical research are over alas!! Best wishes Sylvia in Perth

Hello All, I'm an Aussie newbie to this list and wondering if someone might be able to help me out please. I have a Joseph WILCOCKSON who married on 5 Oct 1826 at Ashley Cambridgeshire to Charlotte HANTON - daughter of Joseph and Mary (nee BONNETT). I would dearly love to know of his parents names and anything about any of these families as this is a brick wall to my line. Look forward to any snippets that you may have to help me out.
