    2. Geoffrey, I don't know if this is really what you're looking for, but for what it's worth, my father's entire side of the family was from Burwell (Lode), Cambs., and I've been there to visit three years in a row, and will be returning there again at the end of this month. I have a lot of pictures of the area as well. If there's anything that you'd like or think you could use, please feel free to contact me. Deb Moore

I would like to find out more about the work that this involved but entering dressmaker 1871 and variations into Google just sends me to references of census records. Does anyone know where i might look to find a potted history and perhaps illustrations too? 3. Hi Fay Did Serjeant Hayes belong to them? There were many HAYESes in Haslingfield. I'm still looking for the parents of William HAYES who married Mary SAMUEL in Harston in 1766. His marriage entry says he was of Guilden Morden but he wasn't christened there. I also have in my database Hannah SERJEANT who married William WILLMOTT in Haslingfield in 1796. They had a Serjeant WILLMOTT born 1804. 2. Steve, Pertaining to this Scharvaumore...could there have possibly been a Southmore at the time somewhere close by? Since Sam's obit was written in 1903 and he was 88 when he died...perhaps if he were on his deathbed relating his story with an english accent, I can imagine Southmore could've sounded like Scharvaumore.
