    1. [ENG-CAMS] PARSON marriage
    2. Hugh Parson
    3. Hi All I see in the Pallot's Marriage index there is a marriage of a John PARSON on 3/11/1817 in Cambridgeshire but it does not give the parish. How can I find the parish so that I can get more details and hopefully prove or disprove that this is one of "mine"? Thanks in advance Hugh Parson _________________________________________________________________ Txt a lot? Get Messenger FREE on your mobile. https://livemessenger.mobile.uk.msn.com/

    3. Hi John I believe the Elizabeth FULLER who married William BANKS, 8 Jun 1685 in Linton, was from Great Shelford. It appears that they just went to Linton for the wedding. There are several possibles for her in the PRs of Great Shelford. I am yet to look at the PRs for Little Shelford. There are quite a few wills available, which hopefully will help. 3. Hi Lyn I believe that the registers for Lt Shelford pre 1687ish are only available as BTs at Cambs University Library, Diocese of Ely records, but I will check. I have the Calendar of Fuller Wills for the Arch Deaconry Court of Ely here so if you want a list let me know. Cambs. to Walter & Elizabeth . Mary married Charles HARRISON & came out to Australia, & settled in Victoria. They are my direct ancestors & variious relations & lines came to Geelong, Victoria where I was born too. I'd be interested if your Fullers are connected in some way to my Fullers from Burwell area. A lot of my other connected lines are from Little shelford, Ickleton areas. Regards, Janette Pfeifer in Oz.

    1. [ENG-CAMS] RE : FAMILY SEARCH
    2. David
    3. Reading your earlier posts regarding this family I assume you are looking for the birth/baptism/parents of Thomas Edward Webber who married Isabella Catherine Bristow in Peterborough (which incidentally was in Northamptonshire) in the December quarter 1863. Your first step should be to purchase the marriage certificate which will provide you with the names of the fathers, addresses and witnesses. If you check http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl you'll find a Thomas Edward Webber born March quarter 1840 in Potterspury registration district which covered parts of Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire, which might be him, or on the other hand it might not. In 1861 RG9/966 folio 41A, living at Station House St, St John the Baptist Peterborough was Charles Webber lodger 22 Engine fitter b London Middlesex Thomas Webber lodger 24 Engine fitter born Wolverton Bucks These were the only Webbers in Peterborough in 1861. Isabella also appears in 1861 at Clifton's Yard, in the parish of St John the Baptist, Peterborough, on folio 49A, so presumably not far from Thomas Webber above. As the two Webbers appear in the order above, rather than the more usual order of deceasing age, I suspect the enumerator may have transposed their ages (see 1851 details below) Wolverton was in Puttersbury registration district In 1851 HO107/1737 folio 256A 406 Bury St, Wolverton William Webber head married 38 Engine fitter b Kingsland Middlesex Mary Webber wife 37 b Stepney Middlesex William Webber son 15 smith b Poplar Middlesex Charles Webber son 13 b ??? (can't decipher it, but I'm pretty sure it's not thye Somerset that it's been transcribed as) Thomas Webber son 11 b Wolverton Elizabeth Webber dau 10 b Wolverton Hugh Webber son 5 b Wolverton George Webber son 3 b Wolverton Kate Webber dau 1 b Wolverton In 1861 RG9/929 folio 97A 418 Bury St, Wolverton William Webber head married 48 Engine fitter b Shoreditch Middlesex Mary Webber wife 47 b Stepney Middlesex Mary Webber dau 18 b Wolverton Hugh Brown Webber son 15 apprentice Engine fitter b Wolverton George L Webber son 13 scholar b Wolverton Kate Webber dau 11 scholar b Wolverton Clara Webber dau 7 scholar b Wolverton Maud L Webber dau 5 scholar b Wolverton Circumstantial evidence looks fairly strong but you'd need the certificates to try to prove it David Hubert Flowers <[email protected]> a écrit : Thomas Eedward Webber family born about 1838. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message --------------------------------- Ne gardez plus qu'une seule adresse mail ! I deleted it from the mail box on line, but then it came through another umpteen times. Four of them was over the limit on my mail inbox so all else would bounce - I should have about 100 emails right now and only have a couple other than this repeated ad infinitum large email! If this does not appear then I will have to re-sub. Dawn

    3. Hi Elizabeth I am a historian in Blacktown NSW and have just finished a database on a cemetery located in my local area. I thought you maybe interested to find out that we have a number of headstones in the cemetery that have an elderly lady's burial inscribed on them giving only details on the lady. Yet on going through the plot book there are at least three I have come across that mention a newborn or stillborn baby placed in the coffin with said woman the child is from another family not related as far I I can tell(no name given) who could not pay for a burial. It would have been so much easier for researchers if the childs parents surname could have been entered on the records. I thought this would interest you as I found it intriguing.Have you by chance come across this unusual proceedure at all in your family research? 3. The newspaper article did not say what was to happen before a grave was reused. From a social historians point of view the issue is much bigger than just each individual grave. Cemeteries are important social documents that can be read to tell you a lot about a community. If they are to be reused they must be recorded properly. I do not just mean the transcription of headstones. I mean a full mapping and photographic survey that records all the headstones, the vacant spaces (no headstone) the plants, the stone or shell arrangements ect. The monumental masons, the stone the head stones were made of etc.(in the past week there as been a historian in America looking for the spread of headstone made from a particular type of very fine grained stone. A second burial in a grave has been an established practice in Australia for some time and it is governed by regulations related to time elapsed and depth. Usually the second burial is either a descendant of the first burial or it is a resident of the same institution.
