Hi Karen, The William GALE living in Stoke Poges in 1841 is married to an Eliza(beth) in all censuses up to 1881. I have copied all the census transcriptions for both Williams for 1841 and 1851 and the Stoke Poges one up to 1881. Will send census images off list. I have a 1841 census image of William GALE born 1811 Ag Lab married to Elizabeth living at Stoke Poges. This man's family is listed in the IGI's and includes his daughter's . Mary. It looks like William's wife Elizabeth died in 1842 and he remarried Mary Ann whom he would be with in 1851. William GALE was a coachmaker when his daughter Mary married in 1848 at Stoke Poges. Her abode was Stoke. Mary and her husband live in Slough at Upton Cum Chalvey after their marriage. Recently I viewed some directories and discovered 1839 William GALE publican at Rein Deer Inn. 1844 the name is listed 3 times, one as a publican at Rein Deer inn, one a Coachmaker and one a blacksmith all at Slough. Now I am unsure if this man had several businesses or if another William Gale was living in the same location. I did a check of the 1841 census index and found another William Gale 1808 Buckingham. Would SKS please help me with details of this man's and the 1851 details of William and Maryann ?
