Before people get too enthusiastic re. doing this type of look-up - IF the source of the data is from CDs then you need to read the license agreement that is associated with the CD and software, and which anyone installing has agreed legally to abide by. They almost exclusively give the user rights of use for Personal purposes ONLY, and so offering to do 'free' look-ups as a service would be in breach of this. I don't think generally the publishers mind people doing occasional look-ups when enquiries are posted - but advertising doing it as a service is potentially a different thing.
