The two unmarried Sarahs in the right age range I can find in that area are 1) living with a widowed mother (a gentlewoman, no less) and 2) a live-in servant. No father around for either. Indeed, I can't find any potential fathers for Sarah at all. Pau;
Paul I got an email earlier with an entry for a Sarah Jones aged 26 living with her mother Mary (gentlewoman, aged 49) and sister Mildred aged 21. I do believe this is the family because in Sarah's marraige certificate, one of the witnesses was Mildred Jones. Sarah married in 1852 and in the certificate they list the father's name: George Jones. Would the father be listed even if he had died?
