    3. That all appears to match the Allen Fay in Chertsey. If he grew up in Chertsey, he may have thought he was born there, until he discovered otherwise. He wouldn't be the only person to make that mistake. My great-grandfather Irving appears to have mistakenly thought for his whole life he was born in the village where his parents lived when he was a child, not knowing that his mother had gone home to her mother to have him (her first child). If you can find the references, you can get certificates for £7 each directly from http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ I think you have the reference for what looks like the marriage of Allen Foy & Ann Elizabeth.
