Hi all, I am a direct descendant of William GOODCHILD and Mary MEAD, who were married on 24th December 1704 in Princes Risborough. There are two possible baptisms for William and the Princes Risborough parish register: one baptised 24th January 1679/80 son of John and Mary, the other baptised 2nd January 1681/2 son of John and Sarah. There was also a William GOODCHILD that married Elizabeth READING in 1705 in the register. Both sets of parents had a son called William fairly close to each other, both Williams grew up and got married, and they both had a father called John. How do I work out which one was which?
