It could just mean the houses around the church. Addresses in small places were still informal back then. "High Street" was the main street, "Market Square" where the market was held. "Horn Street" may have held a pub called the Horn, "Buckingham Road" would have been the road leading towards Buckingham. Formal street names were only used in towns large enough to need them.
