    3. I have a book called "A Dictionary of old Trades, Titles and Occupations" by Colin Waters. Within is listed a Silk Thrower and it states "Natural silk process worker who thickens silk by twisting one or more threads (see also throwster). Also a silk yarn winder. Under Throwster it states "Silk thread winder who thickens thread by twisting it. The word comes from the Anglo-Saxon thrawan meaning to twist or turn." Best regards.
