This is advance notice of the 2008 Buckinghamshire Family History Society Open Day, which will be taking place next Saturday, 26th July, at the Grange School in Aylesbury. The full complement of Bucks FHS databases and libraries will be there, as will guest societies from all over the country and many commercial suppliers. Doors open at 10.00am, parking and entrance to the event are both free and tea and coffee are available for a small price. This year we are especially pleased to welcome Nick Barratt from the BBC Who Do You Think You Are? television program, who will be giving a talk on his involvement in the program and some of the genealogical tips he has picked up along the way. The talk will be taking place twice (at 11.00am and at 2.00pm) and tickets to the talk are priced at £1 per person, available on the day. The Open Day is the highlight of the Bucks FHS year and regularly attracts numbers exceeding 500 people. The postcode of the Grange School for satnav/google maps/streetmap is HP21 7NH. For public transport links see www.travelinesoutheast.org.uk <http://www.travelinesoutheast.org.uk/> ; the nearest bus stop is on Wendover Road opposite Chaucer Drive, about five minutes walk from the school.
