My great grandfather Gweorge Wilson came to New Zealand in the early 1870s. He worked for the railway construction company, Brogdens, but does not appear on any of the (incomplete) Brogden Company shipping lists available in New Zealand. Before he died he said on several occasions that he came from "Stoke" in Bucks. As I found, there are several Stoke whatevers in the county. If you have a spare George Wilson I would love to hear from you. Tony Mooar in bitterly cold Christchurch New Zealand.
Hi Tony, Do you have any more details about him like date of birth or how old he was when he went to NZ? Was he married - if so do you know her name? Or any other family names - anything at all????
