Could SKS with access to the 1871 Bucks Census please look up the following? Alice Jane Alderman born Abt 1862 in Swanbourne, daughter of Matthew & Jane. Matthew & Jane were living in Swanbourne in 1851 & 1881 but there is no sign of Alice on the census, she may have married by 1881 but no record on the IGI. Many thanks Mark

Mark, In the civil registration index I found an Alice Jane Alderman who married in 1894 in Hungerford. I don't know if she is the Alice you are looking for but here is the information: Name: Alderman, Alice Jane Record Type: Marriages Quarter: December Year: 1894 District: Hungerford County: Berkshire Hampshire Wiltshire Volume: 2c Page: 581 Apparently she married Charles Bowley. They are the only two in that page. If you order the certificate form the GRO it will tell you the name of his and her father. I also found her entry of birth: Name: ALDERMAN, Alice Jane Record Type: Births Quarter: December Year: 1862 District: Winslow County: Buckinghamshire Volume: 3a Page: ___ (sorry, page number not given) Swanbourne is very close to Winslow. My ancestors were from Mursley and they were also registered in Winslow. Hope this helps.
