Hello everyone, I have just joined the list, as I am researchin the above name. Roger TOLLADAY was a boat builder in Eton. In Pigot's 1844 and Slater's 1852 directories he was in Brocas? St, as were other boat builders. In 1852 He were entered as Tolladay and Kempster. Has anyone come across this name? If anyone has access to the 1851 census, I would appreciate a lookup. Many thanks Liz Coles

Wife Mary, 56 b Hemel Hempstead HRT. Dau Maria, 17, b Eton. And a real prize - an unmarried sister-in-law, Sarah Abbott, 57, b Hemel Hempstead. Both Slough (or Upton cum Chalvey) & Hemel Hempstead are on canals, which may be significant. The only other Tolladays in the county are Robert, 26, boatbuilder b Eton, & his wife Sarah 24 b Eton, at Hogg Close Eton. Paul
