    3. Hi All I am picking up the trail of an ancestor who has proved a brickwall for some 30 odd years. I have listed the known details of the ancestor, and wonder if in the depth of experience of the message board members someone may have some clues as to where I may try to research. FACTS ABOUT ROBERT HARMAN 1/. Death - Age 79, normal abode Skirmett, Hambledon Nov 6, 1847 (birth year therefore c1776) - copy of record held 2/. Marriage 1 - 23 Dec 1797 - married Susannah Smart - Hambleden, Bucks - entry # 105 3/. Marriage 2 - 12 Oct 1803 - married Sarah Newitt - Hambleden, Bucks - entry # 165 - (Sarah was actually born at Duns Tew in OXN) 4/. 1841 Census - Hambleden - address Skirmett - Sub-Registration District - Great Marlow Registration District - Wycombe County - Buckinghamshire Place - Skirmett - Robert Harman - 65 Ag Labr - Sarah " - 60 - Richard Atkins - 28 Ag Labr - Ruth Atkins - 28 - Daniel Harman - 18 Ag Lbr - Thos Harman - 4 All born in County 5/. A fellow researcher has developed a theory that my Robert MAY be connected with one born in Bisham, Berks, to Joseph Harman and Ann. I have searched for any dedicated Skirmett records, but it appears that the IGI doesn't carry any. I also tried a Google, and whilst I found that the village had a small flint church dating from the 19C it has now been converted into a home. If it was once a church, then I would have expected there to be some church records. Any one have any ideas or leads?? All assistance would be appreciated. Best Regards Michael
