Thanks, Pen" There are 7 Tibbys in Bucks in the 1851 census - High St Wendover Bennett TIBBY 54 butcher born Wendover Ann wife 49 b Wendover Bennett son 24 b London Groom William son 19 b Wendover Groom Henry son 9 b Wendover Scholar Nearby in the High Street - Jane TIBBY visitor widow 42 b Clapham SRY (household of Michael HOW 57 b Wendover, & Catherine HOW, 53, b Rochester Kent) And in Pound Street, Charles TIBBY 13 b Wendover servant to farmer James Billington. Also 8 TEBBEY in Gayhurst, all born Hanslope or Gayhurst, & 9 TEBBY, 7 in Stoke Goldington, all the family of a bloke from Hanslope. Oldest is Alice TEBBY, 75, widowed lacemaker born Wing, living Cambridge Street Aylesbury - so she'll probably have known some of my ancestors! The other one was born Leighton Buzzard - might be worth checking in Bedfordshire.
