With the reference from FreeBMD (December 1848 quarter, Eton registration district, volume 6 page 707 show George Samuel Emanuel & Mary Elizabeth Gale) you can get a marriage certificate online directly from the GRO at - http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ If you go to -http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountyBuckingham.htm#H - you see that High Wycombe christenings are mostly not in the IGI. But on the Bucks FHS website, here - http://www.bucksfhs.org.uk/index.php?option=com_parish&task=eventsBap - you see that their christenings database covers High Wycombe for that period. They'll do a search for a small fee, & send you the results (they can be e-mailed). But one possibility you have to face is that you won't find him in High Wycombe baptisms. Emanuel is an uncommon name (just 402 in the 1841 census, none in Bucks under any spelling), & most seem to have been in Wales & Middlesex. Quite a few of the latter were listed as "Foreign" & not necessarily christian. Aah - an Edward EMANUEL aged 60 in the 1881 census, born "Wycombe". 14 Leete Street, London, Middx. Wife Catherine b Maidenhead. And George had a son Edward. Brother?
