Nivard, very many thanks for that, brilliant. you must have a comprehensive 1871 because I could not find him. Harriet was from Rugby so it all fits. I shall have to order up his birth cert to verify his parents, then perhaps I can get a little further back. I did not think of entering Mumday I must admit, although I thought that these census dealt with variants? Any secrets please pass on! Your help MUCH appreciated kind regards john ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nivard Ovington" <ovington1@sky.com> To: <eng-buckinghamshire@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, June 29, 2007 11:47 AM Subject: Re: [ENG-Buck] Munday/Monday > Hi John > > Given that a brother to Henry is one Abraham who looks to be the one below > registered in Leighton Buzzard > > Births Jun 1849 > Munday Abraham Leighton Buzd. 6 82 > > This is possibly the birth registration of the Henry you seek? > > Births Dec 1851 > MUNDAY Henry Leighton B 6 79 > > This is another but less likely > > Births Sep 1853 > Munday Henry John Leighton Buzzard 3b 332 > > You may find this useful re Ivinghoe and places around it > > http://met.open.ac.uk/GENUKI/big/eng/BKM/Ivinghoe/Index.html > > The parents James and Elizabeth are still living in 1891 > > Henry MUNDY (sic) is in Rugby Warks in 1871 as a lodger , occupation > Porter, > perhaps a Railway Porter given the occupation of the head of household as > Pointsman, birthplace of Henry given as Chedington Bucks > > In 1881 Henry is indexed as MUMDAY living in Burton upon Trent Staffs with > wife Harriet, birthplace again Chedington Bucks > > Best wishes Nivard Ovington, in Cornwall (UK) > > >> I am trying to trace a person called HENRY MUNDAY.
