    3. Looking for JANES? Have you tried searching under JAMES for your JANES family? I have had James listed as Janes. There is a Rowland JAMES in the 1881 census with a wife & family.     3. I have tried JAMES as well as JANES as I too did find one of my JANES listed as JAMES in the censuses. Thanks for mentioning that so others may be aware.
