Sep 1894, Shoredith, Middlesex County, England. 4. iii. MABLE ALICE L. TOMS, b. Oct 1897, Camberwell, England.

Hello Sherrie. I cannot see John & Jane in any census - nor any of their children. Did they emigrate ? I see John Norris' birth registered 1863 Dec.Qtr. Amersham 3a 359. Not in 1865. I see also the confusing marriages on FreeBMD of a Jane Dickens in 1889 March Qtr. Amersham 3a 585 to George Morris Toms and (another?) John Morris Toms. Both on the same page - so I don't know what that signifies. I canot see those in censuses either. In 1881 at Amersham there is a John N.Toms age 17 b.Amersham, at home with his parents George Toms age 58 b.Amersham and his mother Mahalia Toms age 56 b.Abbotts Langley, Herts.and three other children. That is the only reference I found to a John N.Toms. In 1871 all the family were at Amersham (listed under the surname of "Fones") including two daughters, Mahalia 14 and Mary A. 12. In 1891 George 62 and Mahalia 66 were still in Amersham (with a footnote :- "also as George Torris") In 1851 George 22 and Mahalia 28, a straw plaiter, were in Amersham with a daughter Sarah Ann age 1 b.Amersham and a Sophia E.Ricketts age 5 "daughter before marriage" b.Watford. Not very helpful perhaps but that is all I found. Best wishes.
