Hi list, everyone's been a bit quiet lately, but hoping this will prompt some replies. One of my BONHAMs (Robert 1838-1900) a butcher born Whaddon, moved to St Neots, Hunts married the delightfully named Mary Elizabeth Head GUNN in 1863. I've had no success until today tracing her origins. Now I know she was the dau of William GUNN and Charlotte HEAD, William being the eldest son of William GUNN, Independent Minister and Obedience LUKE. According to the book by Robert Gibbs, "A History of Aylesbury etc" quoted on GENUKI, William GUNN snr was pastor at Hale Leys Independent Chapel for 27 years (1816-death in 1844) and IGI offers up 6 children for him and Obedience baptised there. Prior to Aylesbury he was for a few years at Towcester Independents. I would love to know more about William GUNN snr and Hale Leys, hoping someone may have the Gibbs book, could look see if there's more info there. Any extra details or sources to check will be welcome but in particular I'd like to know where William snr was born in 1760, can't find anything online. Cheers, Celia Renshaw in Chesterfield UK
