Hi Pen I think you have asked this before, because I have a reply to you in my Sent Items but from your new message you obviously never got it! So here is the info: All born in county except for Jane - they didn't specify exact place of birth in 1841: Jane TIBBY 30 baker James TIBBY 12 Thomas TIBBY 10 Charles TIBBY 6 and right next door: Bennet TIBBY 40 baker Ann TIBBY 40 Bennet TIBBY 15 seems to be something under occupation but too faint to make out William TIBBY 12 Elizabeth TIBBY 10? occupation looks like Th L M (yes initials - no idea what that means) James (?) TIBBY 3 There's also a William HILL at this address age 70 ag lab The reference is piece 043, enumeration district 4, folio 9, pg 12 (for Jane and first son) and pg 13 (for her second two sons and the second family group). Many thanks Alex, I have responded off list. Pennie
Hello all, I am familiar with the difficulties of the 1841 as I have tried in vain to find my family in the Durham 1841. Which makes me a little unsure about asking for a look up in the Bucks version. I am only seeking one family and they were only in Wendover. I wonder if SKS would take a look for me please? I do have some street names, although the total population in 1841 was 1,877 so it might not be so bad. The name I am seeking is TIBBY and I would be so pleased to find any in Wendover at that time. I have a problem with determining from whence they came and when. Most of them migrated to London by the 1860s to be bakers. Any help much appreciated. More information off list if required. Thanks a lot, Pen

... but not the server on which [email protected] is based ! If in doubt about a situation at RootsWeb, there's usually a yellow box at http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/ with updates of problems. The current message is: Mail Lists: 2004-11-09 All visitors please read this message. This really does mean YOU! One of our mailing list servers (LISTS5) is partaking in conniptions of a disruptive nature. This server is off-line for maintenance. Updated information: The initial problem has been identified and resolved, however, the initial problem caused subsequent problems to digests and the overall fix is going to take a little longer to achieve. Trust us that we don't like the beast being off-line and we are endeavouring to get it back as soon as we can. The current estimate of the time that the server will be off-line is another day or two. At this time, please do not contact the HelpDesk if you are not receiving email. We do mean this and the continuing number of messages asking this exact question is staggering. If you are not receiving the email that you expect to receive, odds-on it is due to the server being off-line. If you wish to check your list subscriptions, please visit the normal place Password Central. http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com Est. downtime: 1 day(s) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LISTS5 houses the early lists for England - amongst which are Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Gloucester, Warwick, Northants - but not Bucks - that was a later breakaway list from the one for Bedfordshire. If in doubt about a RootsWeb situation - always check the HelpDesk, but then the next place to ask is the admin for that list - all admins can be reached by using the "formula" [email protected] and replacing the word LISTNAME by the list's real name. I'm always happy to be contacted with respect to the two lists I admin listed below. -- Wendy List Admin [email protected] List Admin [email protected]

They both had bicycle business's in Maidenhead. I was born in Pipers lane, Great Kingshill. I am interested in any information on the family and the area. as I left Kingshill as a young child. Anyone help? Chris Timberlake, Australia.
Hi Peter, (If you'll forgive me Wendy for butting in?) One of the Rootsweb mail servers is 'down' at the moment. Only those Lists whose mail travel through that one server are affected, and Bucks doesn't look to be one of them as mail is still coming through. So if you're on another List that's gone quiet, that may be one that's affected. Service will resume as soon as they can. But don't worry about this List. This is probably a very silly question but her goes anyway. I have most of the pages for the IGI for Bucks for my Horwood family. I am looking for John Horwood c: 1822/3 in particular. My puzzlement is there is only one entry on all the bucks IGI pages for Ellesborough. Am I missing something here or is it just that no one got married/Baptised or died in Ellesborough? Best regards Annie Bardo
It will be sorted in the next day, I admin another list and it was email that went out to all of us Kind Regards Suzannah ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, November 06, 2004 8:44 PM Subject: [ENG-BUCK] PROBLEM WITH MESSAGES > Rootsweb is having problems with some lists. lancs is one. maybe Bucks? > Anna > > > ============================== > Expand your family tree. Hello List, Just to let you know that another section has been added to the 'Leighton Buzzard Observer and Linslade Gazette' Index website. This local newspaper covers a much larger area than just Leighton Buzzard and Linslade. Please remember, that although all personal names, and most of the place names mentioned in the articles, and advertisements, are added to the index, and notes of the contents of articles are included, there is often still more content to be found in the actual article. Also, please note, there is a related website giving historical information about the the towns of Leighton Buzzard, Beds. and Linslade, which was formerly in Bucks, but is now joined with Leighton to become Leighton-Linslade. Also, several of the related, surrounding villages are included on this site. Both of these sites continue to be added to at fairly regular intervals. The Leighton - Linslade website can be found at - www.leighton-linslade.com and the LBO Index at www.leighton-linslade.com/lbo/ Barbara and Kevin Quick
