    3. Both Edmunds seem to have stayed on for a while - 1851 the younger one is 23, "Fancy Chair Maker", married to Mary A, 22, b Wycombe. Older Edmund same trade. But they're the only Hutchinson (or variants) families in town. Alexandra Coles wrote: >Hi Patricia > >Not much luck I'm afraid. 3. Wasn't there some confusion with George & James? In 1871, what looks very much like your Mary was living in Barking, married (according to the census) to one James JAKES, 40, born Biggleswade. She was said to be 45. They had a few children, aged up to about 16, all said to be born Barking. Edward JAQUES born Haddenham was in Thame, OXF, aged 22. And still there in 1901, though he was then saying he was born in Aylesbury. JAQUES in 1871, JAKES in 1881 & 1901, JKES (ancestry.com messing up their transcription again) in 1891. The girls had disappeared. Probably married & changed their names, maybe died. The 1861 Bucks census transcription by Bucks Genealogical Society should be published soon. That'll tell you if they were in Bucks in 1861. However, since Edward was in Thame in 1871, maybe it's worth trying Oxfordshire in 1861. The 1861 census for Oxfordshire is indexed. Paul elista wrote: >Awhile back a kind gentleman from this list sent me a 1851 census record from Townside, Haddenham. 2. Hello list On 03/03/1799 William HUTCHINSON son of James and Judith HUTCHINSON was baptised in High Wycombe. I have a William in my tree. In the 1861 census for Bethnal Green he gives High Wycombe as his birthplace and an age that would give a birthdate of circa 1806 (his 2nd wife was quite a bit younger). Do James and Judith make it to the 1841 Bucks census? Is the family known? By the way William was a chairmaker. Any info gratefully received. Patricia Fuller CASTLE CARY Somerset

    3. Hi All, Havent been on this list for awhile, as I have been away. Posting my interest in JONES. In particular SARAH JONES, born between 1817 -1820. She has me more confused than ever. Here is what I know...... Sarah Jones married Edward Poulton 21 May 1836, St James Clerkenwell, at least one child a daughter born in Essex. Edward Poulton (Carpenter) born abt 1810, died on the 21 July 1840, St James, Clerkenwell. 1844 Sarah has a son Henry William Watson Poulton to William Watson (Labourer) , Southgate Edmonton. 1849 Sarah remarried to John Gray (Brickmaker) at Southgate, Edmonton, then in 1855 immigrated to Australia 1841 Census - St James Clerkenwell, listed as a widow, born Aylesbury 1851 Cenus - Southgate, Edmonton, listed with husband & children, born Cuddington. 1855 shipping index for the Sabrina, listed a born Marsh Gibbon on one section, Aylesbury on another. On her 2nd marriage she lists her father as Joseph Jones Farmer. as she does on the shipping index. I have tried locating her birth in Marsh Gibbon, there is a match, but I dont think it is her. I thought she may have been the daughter of Jospeh Jones & Sarah Slade. If any one has any idea's where to look in Cuddington, as I think this is more likely as a lot of information states Aylesbury, Cuddington being closer to here, rather than Marsh Gibbon. TIA Regards Elaine Smith Waterford West Qld Australia

    3. The 1871 census shows John TERRY, Hurdle Maker age 16 (but I'm not sure that's been transcribed right - there's an enumerators mark right through it, very hard to make out - could be 14) b Buckland Common BKM, living with his sister Mary TERRY, 21, Straw Plaiter, head, b Buckland Common BKM, in Tring, Herts (a short walk from Buckland) & her sons William, 3, & George, 2 months. I found what's probably the same Mary in Buckland in 1851 - William TERRY 25 Carpenter b Buckland BKM Mary wife 25 Straw Plaiter b Astrop Herts Elizabeth dau 8 Scholar b Tring Fredrick son 4 b Buckland Mary dau 2 do There are others who may be related. 3. Thank you so much for your help. I definitely need to get the birth certificate now. Both Ephraim and Eleazer appear on the 1881 census but neither has a son George still part of the household. But George who married Annie is already married and in their own house. No sign of my George on there though!! Thanks again Jane Savile nee Kitchener (suffolk,UK) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Irving" <[email protected]> > First the good news.
