    3. IIf you look at the 1891 & 1901 censuses, you see that she must have been born about 1824 or 1825, in Lane End. If you look at the 1881 census & see how many Charlottes that age & born in Lane End there were, you might be able to have a stab at identifying her. Then you'll have to track back & find her first marriage to find her maiden name. 3. Cookham Dean (and Cookham) are actually in Berkshire, not Buckinghamshire, so you might be better off trying the Berks list. However, Cookham's only the width of a river from Bucks, so it's likely you also have ancestors from Bucks. 2. The Bucks Family History Society has databases of christenings/marriages/burials for Bucks, which can be searched for a fee, & sells transcriptions of parish registers for some parishes. See their website - www.bucksfhs.org.uk - for details. The databases are far from complete, but there are files for each database on the website, detailing coverage. 3. I'm back to the Bucks list(s) after a long break. My interests in Bucks are numerous, main names and locations are listed below. Right now however I'm hoping someone else may be researching Buckingham WHITEs. My step-grandmother Ann Maria WHITE was born 19 Jul 1854 in Fleece Yard, Buckingham, dau of George WHITE and Ann (nee DRAPER), who was a Kenilworth girl. George WHITE was Ostler at the Fleece then The Swan and Castle, with landlord James BLACKWELL, and was born 1820/1 in Buckingham. I see that Buckingham baps remain the brick wall they always were, still not available on IGI or anywhere else online, so does anyone have George in their files please? Of if someone happens to be going to Aylesbury or Milton Keynes local studies, could you have a quick shufty at the St Peter & St Paul baps for 1820-ish? I can't see myself getting down there to do research for a long time so any help would be greatly appreciated. In return I can offer lookups in Buckingham marriages and other resources. When I was here before, the 1861 census for Bucks was well on its way - anyone know if it's now available? Celia Renshaw In Chesterfield UK Researching: BONHAM - Nash, Whaddon, Stony Stratford MORRIS - Potterspury, Passenham, Stony Stratford, Hillesden NELSON - Buckingham, Padbury, Water Stratford, Thornborough, Greens Norton, Northampton SHORT - Adstock, Thornborough LOVESY - Buckingham, Stony Stratford, Wolverton, Cosgrove, Deanshanger, Newport Pagnell And many more Plus a general research interest in Buckingham PS Why are there two Bucks lists? To anyone else on both lists, forgive double posting.

    3. Hi Everyone, I've just been given a brochure on St Dunstan's Church from my Grandmother. It is a 'potted' history of the church, and I wondered if anyone would like a scanned copy of it - presuming that a little church brochure would not be copyright? There is no date, but from the clothing in the 'contemporary' photograph towards the end I would say it was early 1970s. The back cover has about a dozen baptisms from 1774-75, a similar number from 1755 and about half a dozen from 1756. If it's of any interest, let me know, and also whether you have broadband so I can send you a good quality scan or you need it made to a smaller size for dial-up. All the best, May LANCHBURY Perth, Western Australia [Bcc copy to Michael]
