    3. Hi Jane In my search of the 1851 CD, I only found one W KITCHENER, and this was it: Olney Pt 3 1723 632 0043 High Steet East Thomas DENTON HD M 35 M Ag Lab Emberton BKM Deborah DENTON WI 34 F Dressmaker Olney BKM Maria DENTON DA 10 F Scholar Olney BKM William KITCHENER RE M 78 M Chelsea Pensioner Olney BKM Fanny KITCHENER WI 73 F Lacemaker Olney BKM Is this he? 3. Does anyone know where I could find a passenger list for english ship that sank in 1882? The ship was called the RMS Duoro and was discovered about 1982. It was carrying a good amount of gold coins, dust, bars and diamonds. My g-grandfather is said to have been a passenger on this ship. I'm looking to confirm this. Any help would be appreciated. 3. For listers without easy access to 1891 census, here are some strays not yet on FreeCEN, all in Eckington DBY, transcribed from images of original pages at Ancestry. My apologies, I didn't record actual refs (RG12/ etc) but can look them up on request. W = worker; e = employer; n = neither By the way, I haven't finished transcribing Eckington yet (it's a big place in 1891), so there may be more later. Looks like there was a small migration of Clifton and Sherington families. 2. Cocerning the Susanne Bierton/Amos JANES descendants. I have traced my own particular line of the JANES family back to Levi JANES (b.1816) married to Mary Ann Heles/Heales in 1836 and in the 1851 Census having three children, William (age 7 – my great grandfather), James (age 4) and Jabez (age 8m.). An interesting article concerning the Bierton and Janes families appeared in the Leighton Buzzard Observer on 24 March 1863 which reads as follows: “A report regarding the case of James JANES, a labourer, of Edlesborough, who was charged on the 11th of March 1863. The complainant had been nursing the prisoner’s wife and he on several occasions had made improper overtures to her; eventually when she left he followed her and because she refused to go back he threatened her with a pistol which he had loaded. The defendant was 52 years and the complainant was 17. He made no reply to the charge and was committed for three calendar months, in default of finding sureties”. The defendant lived in Edlesborough. Could this Jane Bierton (b.1846) be related to the above mentioned Susanne Bierton? 3. Have you tried looking on FreeBMD ?? Pete -----Original Message----- From: Paul Irving [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 10 February 2005 18:48 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [ENG-BUCK] Great Marlow marriage lookup IIf you look at the 1891 & 1901 censuses, you see that she must have been born about 1824 or 1825, in Lane End. If you look at the 1881 census & see how many Charlottes that age & born in Lane End there were, you might be able to have a stab at identifying her. Then you'll have to track back & find her first marriage to find her maiden name. 2. That fits: they're shown as married in the 1891 census, but he's a widower in 1881.
