    3. I know that I should know the answer to this, but I don't. I'd like to obtain 2 marriage records West Bromwich. What is the fastes and easiest to do this for someone in the US? Do the offices or private parties who do this type of thing accept Paypal? Paypal seems like it would be the easiest and safest way to pay. Can anyone advise me? Thanks. Brenda

    3. Hi Brenda The easiest way is to order the certificates from the GRO (General Register Office). If you find the references on the free FreeBMD website then you can order them via the web direct from the GRO here: http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ and pay for them with a credit or debit card. They cost £9.25 including postage, which is a bargain for you as of course the postage overseas is dearer than inland, but we all pay the same here.... The local Register Offices only charge £9 for a certificate, but they are allowed to add postage on to that, and few have online or credit card facilities - although I do not know specifically about the one holding theWest Bromwich RD registers now. But if you do decide to go down that line you need to find the marriages on http://www.westmidlandsbmd.org.uk/cgi/marrind.cgi?county=westmidlands and click on the Reference link given beside them. This will give you a form to print out to send to the Register Office with the exact reference for them to find the marriages easily - and also tell you where to send it. Good luck Polly ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brenda Perkins" <bperk930@gmail.com> To: <eng-black-country@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 24, 2012 11:21 PM Subject: [Black Country] Obtaining records from the Registrar's Office I know that I should know the answer to this, but I don't.
