Hi Kathryn: It is Essington Village. When I was a kid I used to go to New Invention in the summer and Essington was just up the way along Essington Rd. As for the birthdate I thought Mar 30, 1853 and so did another lister. But 1855 works as well. Need to get to the actual parish records...fat chance as I live in Nova Scotia <LOL>. The date of registration is clearer and says 1855, but if you look closely you can see the top part of the five, looked like a three to me at first also. I am also across the pond, in New York... Village makes sense...
