I usually go to the Shorter Oxford Dictionary when words are mentioned and this time I found the following HAULER. 1674 One who or that which hauls; a haulier. HAULIER. 1577. A man employed in hauling something, e.g. coal in a mine. The dates given are the year of the document in which the word was found.
