Hello Jan Birmingham Archives should be able to tell you if records still exist You can find them here : http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/archives Maggie ======================================== Message Received: Mar 19 2012, 01:22 AM From: "Kevin & Jan Newcombe" To: eng-black-country@rootsweb.com Cc: Subject: [Black Country] Aston Workhouse and John Price I am wondering.....My John PRICE, in the 1881 Census lived at 38 High Street, West Bromwich, aged 76, born Dudley with his wife Jane aged 51. Jane died in 1886. Their family living there at the time were James (24), Mary A (17), Isaiah (15) and John & his family (36). They would have all gone by the 1891 Census. In the 1891 Census I found an old fellow, John PRICE (1) (88yrs) Gen. Lab. (Very deaf) in the ASTON UNION WORKHOUSE, Gravelly Hill, Erdington, Warwick. I have a feeling it is him after much hunting on The Genealogist site. I've also Googled the Aston Union Workhouse, but I need to know if there are any records available with details of deaths/burials from there? Haven't been able to find one suitable, and in the right area on the BDMs. If anyone can shed some light on this subject I'd be grateful. (He and his family lived in London for about 8 years before coming back to the Midlands). They were living in High Street for at least 20 years. I've never found anyone who is researching this family. Thank you and best wishes Jan PRICE/GROOM/HURLEY/BILLINGHAM/SARGENT/COOPER ------------------------------------- The only List that specifically covers the whole of the Black Country.
