Dead by 1881 (can't find death on GRO - only likely one wasn't from Brierley Hill or Rowley Regis) . CENSUS 1, 1881. "1881 139 High St Rowley Regis Hannah Stokes H W 34 b Worcester charwoman & general servant Thomas s 13 '' William s 11 '' Arthur s 13 '' Ezekial s 7 '' Samuel s 6 '' Wilford s 5 '' Freddy s 4 ''." Thought this might be him in 1861 as he seems to be the ONLY candidate, although the age is out. possibly "right of 9 locks at top of 9 locks bridge" Brierley Hill Martha Stokes H W 71 Kingswinford Simon S U 30 '' boatman WILLIAM S U 27 '' '' Mary D 2 '' James S 1 '' William Horton vis U 30 Worcestershire '' But his father was JOHN....... If this is him, he was bap 16/4/1834 Kingswinford the same day as Abel Stokes - both to John & Martha. Simon may have been bap Doncaster with another son Alfred. Might be worth checking if Alfred died. See lodger - in 1871 William & Hannah live next door to Frances & Sarah Horton. Any help would be most welcome to this brickwall.
