Hi Pat Looking at your last, I see a glimmer of a possible connection between our Coopers and an interesting one at that. It may be more for yours than for mine. Or it may apply to both. But, beyond the Coopers, I see Gil must be related to Carl Higgs of Amblecote, Stourbridge. Carl wrote me last July about a Cooper family related to him, that might also connect with mine if I can get back that far. His paper mentions that an Edward Darby married Mary Cooper at the Dudley Friends Meeting House, 17 January 1671. Mary Cooper, it seems, was a daughter of blacksmith Humphrey Cooper of Moden Hill (between Sedgley and Upper Gornal). But his papers had much more about Parkes/Parkshouse/Persehouse, Darbys and Hancox...at Sedgeley amongst other places. As well as connections with the Suttons, Hughes, Jeavons, Whitehouse, Underhill, Smallman, Caddick, and Turton. Through Margaret Darby nee Parkshouse there is a connection with the Suttons. Some Suttons were cousins to the Tudors as well as the Stuarts. Now what can you tell me about your Coopers? By the way, how far apart are Bilston and Moden Hill?
