Gay: Most of the parish of Halesowen (which included Oldbury, Langley and Warley) was, amazingly, in Shropshire in 1841. Several small pieces of the parish were in Worcestershire, but not many people lived in them. Things were sorted out in 1844, when it all became Worcestershire. Many thanks for letting me know Paul. I suspected it was but wasn't completely sure. Thanks also for getting back to me about Titford Road. Have had no joy with anyone having access to the 1841 for Langley and Oldbury, so will have to try and get down to Smethwick Archives at some stage to look them up there. Did have a look on a website called Originsnetwork which has transcribed the 1841 census but it doesn't look like Shropshire is on there yet. If SKS does have access to the 1841 census for Oldbury and Langley I would be most grateful if they could get in touch, Many thanks Gay Smallwood
