    3. Hello Bob Very early Census 1801, 1811, 1821, 1831 were more or less just statistics. Looking at the ones I have for COOPER in Bloxwich, Walsall at the time of the 1801 Census it listed the name of the head of household, his occupation, how many males were in the house and how many females. The 1821 Census I found in Wednesbury for BURCOTT gave me 1house, 1 family, the name of the head of the household Henry Burcott then 2 males under 5 years, 1 males between 10 & 15 yrs. 1 male between 40 & 50yrs 1female between 5 & 10yrs 1 female between 30 & 40 yrs. very limited info' but it did help a little. The 1831 ones I found at Walsall (again for Cooper)had columns for Inhabited House, How many families in the house. How many trades in that building How many Males How many females, Total in house, The number of Males upward of 20years. The 1841 was the first one of any real value to researchers although it didn't give relationships or the towns where people were born. The adult ages were listed into rounded DOWN groups of 5.If the age was given as 15 it meant someone was aged 15 to 19 years. 20yrs meant they were 20 to 24 and so on. Does that help you? I do not have any 1841 census for Bilston so I am sorry I cannot help with that one. Does Bilston come into Wolverhampton Archives area? If it does you might find something of interest at www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/archives Best of luck Pat.
