    3. Hi folks, I'm stuck with a road name in the 1851 census for the parish of Kingswinford in the Ecclaistic district of Brockmoor. Page 26. It looks like St by Lane. Perhaps someone who lives in the area would know what it is. The next part of the question is to do with the Guest family. The daughter Phoebe was a widow and she married my gggrandfather William Longmore in 1854. When they married Phoebe had two daughters Mary and Meriah. They still lived with William and Phoebe in the 1861 census, Does anyone have the 1871 census and if so could they check it to see if the two daughters are still there. Thanks in advance Talk to you soon BILL ___________________________________________________________ Win a BlackBerry device from O2 with Yahoo!. Enter now. http://www.yahoo.co.uk/blackberry

    3. Hi Bill, I'm pretty sure the address on the 1851 census says "St by Sun." St being abbreviation for street and Sun being the pub. This later became Sun Street, Brockmoor. I believe it is now the top 100 yards section of Norwood Road that approaches Brockmoor High Street and the pub there is The Old Star. 3. Hi Bill On the 1871 census Phoebe Longmore was a widow living in Sun Lane, Brockmoor. Her daughter, Maria Bytheway was still at home. As were Eliza Longmore, 16, WilliamLongmore, 14, and Edwin Longmore, 7. The older daughter, Mary had married Matthew Noakes. They had two young children and were living in Sun Street, Brockmoor, just a couple of census pages after Phoebe. The were in the household of 74yo William Guest (who was the sexton at Brockmoor Church).
