I have just found that my g g g g grandfather was a Chelsea Pensioner and his middle name was RAWLAT. I am just wondering if his father had also been a soldier and he had christened his son after a battle. Does anyone recognise the name at all. I have done a search and come up with a suspicious map and website on the net, which I haven't entered. Just wondered if anyone on the list has heard the name before. Yorkie
Nice idea Yorkie but Ancestry has a few entries for RAWLATT in the Leamington & Coventry area from the 1881 census and there's a few in the Northants & Leics area in 1861- maybe it's a maiden name?
