Is there anyone researching Wilkinson from Dudley? George G Wilkinson c.1864 Fire brick manuf. 1901 living St.James Rd.Dudley his father also Geo.1834 was a bank manager. I'm having a bit of a problem with George jnr's wife Kate,whom I believe to be my g.g.aunt.Their eldest child George st.clair Wilk.is 7 in 1891---17 in 1901. George + Kate married in 1887 at St.Augustines Holly Hall. The only birth I can find for a Geo.st.clair in 1884 Dudley has the surname Ellis I may be way off track here,so at the moment a little wary of buying birth.cert Geo.st.clair., My reasons for thinking that the above Kate is my g.g.aunt(your thoughts would be appreciated) John Evan Ellis 1852 (my g.grandfather) Eva ---- 1857 Kate ---- 1860 Ada -- 1864 These were the children of Catherine Ellis (never married) their step-grandfather was Charles Mills (tailor) In 1881 John is John Evans his future wife a visitor. Ist marr calls himself John Mills father John Mills tailor 2nd ------------------------John Ellis ---------Charles Ellis ---- When Kate marries she is Kate V.EVANS father Charles St.clair Evans master tailor. Is all this feasible, especially with the different backgrounds ( and porkies) where on earth does st.clair come from(who's the patron saint of tailors?)
