Does anyone out there recognise Henry Thomas TRUBSHAW (born abt 1851), son of John and Caroline? According to the 1871 census he is at home with them and unmarried - the census was taken on April 2. However, according to the BMD index he married in the March Quarter of the same year to Emma BASSETT who I think may be the sister of my gg grandmother. On the 1871 census Emma TRUBSHAW is recorded as a servant (married) with another family just round the corner. At the time she was 21 and Henry was only 20. Their first child was born in the September quarter of 1871. At first sight it looks as though Emma got pregnant and Henry married her on the quiet (although her employers obviously knew) but he didn't tell his own parents as he was under age at the time.
