My Maternal Grandmother gave me gin, sugar and warm water when I had a stomach ache and my BlackCountry Paternal Grandfather, rum and hot milk for a cold. And I was only 4 or 5. I have hung on till nearly sixty so maybe they wern't so bad! (And yes I do still enjoy the odd gin or rum)!
